You must have at least three months' professional development experience, with practical and conceptual knowledge of HTML5 programming. Including the following:

  • Understanding the basic HTML document structure:
    • Using HTML tags to display text content
    • Using HTML tags to display graphics
    • Using HTML APIs
  • Understanding how to style common HTML elements using CSS, including:
    • Separating presentation from content
    • Managing content flow
    • Managing positioning of individual elements
    • Managing content overflow
    • Basic CSS styling

Students on this course are typically technical leads, with at least four years of SharePoint and web development experience. You'll be responsible for designing custom code for projects that are deployed to or interact with SharePoint environments. It is recommended you have experience in:

  • Selecting an appropriate approach and building customisations in SharePoint.
  • Planning and implementing solution packaging, deployment, and upgrading.
  • Identifying SharePoint data and content structures for customisations.
  • Performing diagnostics and debugging.
  • Planning and designing applications for scalability and performance.
  • Identifying and mitigating performance issues of customisations.
  • Understanding authentication and authorization.
  • Working with Windows PowerShell.

You should also have familiarity with SharePoint capabilities and with Online Services such as Windows Azure and SharePoint Online. Plus familiarity developing Office client apps.
